CITY TRASH TOUR
MAGIC DIRT - GIRLS AGAINST BOYS - AND THE NATION BLUE

Rockers MAGIC DIRT, USAšs GIRLS AGAINST BOYS (GVSB) and THE NATION BLUE are taking your aural senses hostage this winter as these three seminal bands spend the latter part of June and July on the road creating a stir on their CITY TRASH tour. And the ransom? blinding, explosive down and dirty rock n`roll.

MAGIC DIRT are one of Australia's finest rock exports and have a reputation for impassioned and energetic live performances. Spanning a career of almost 10 years, MAGIC DIRT have rocked our souls with their infectious blend of power and pop sensibility and beautiful melodies to down right loud rock nš roll with searing guitars and thumping bass lines over ridden with Adalitašs passionate and hypnotic lyrics.

Adalita, Dean, Raul and Adam have graced many a stage throughout the country and abroad including festivals such as the Big Day Out, Splendour in the Grass and Homebake, toured as headliners and with some of Australiašs and the world`s best indie and alternative acts such as Silverchair, Powderfinger, Sonic Youth, Hole, Smashing Pumpkins, Swervedriver, Will Oldman, Lemonheads and Beck to name but a few, and they have planned another sojourn overseas to England and Japan prior to this kick ass Aussie tour.

Theyšve had their fair share of success on the recording front too with their second ever EP "LIFE WAS BETTER" sitting in the alternative charts for a staggering seventy weeks! while their first major label release "WHAT ARE ROCK STARS DOING TODAY" was released in October of 2000 and has been widely received by fans and critics alike.

We welcome one of Washingtonšs finest - the prolific GIRLS AGAINST BOYS (GVSB) to Australia for the first time! GVSB are a rarity, formed in 1990 from the ashes of legendary DC hardcore bands (most notably Soulside) they are into their twelfth year as a band and album number six "YOU CAN'T FIGHT WHAT YOU CANšT SEE".

Live, there is simply no time to have a nice day - you just shut up and rock your face off! and the band have more voltage than their amps and their equipment seems meek when compared to the amount of human energy they put into them. They have successfully fused DC punk rock and loop-infested disco.

Critically acclaimed Alexis, Eli, Scott and Johnny are another set of stoic tourers, having taken their thick pop opulence on the road with the likes of Fugazi, The Jesus Lizard, Rage Against the Machine and Garbage and appearing in such festivals as Lollapolooza, Reading and Mt Fuji.

They are also making their most vital music yet! Best described by bassist Johnny Temple as "Stripped-down rock - as dark, abrasive, and strangely compelling as wešve ever been" menacingly ripe hooks and manic aggression mixed with an emboldened lights-out sophistication - wešre talking GVSB gold!

THE NATION BLUE are a Melbourne trio of excellence who already carry the tag as one of the most vital sounding Australian bands. Many emotive words describe this band and itšs music - beautiful, intense, moving, thoughtful and brutal...raw, chaotic, soft and resounding and all at the same time. They mix it up with an intense blend of passionate vocals, hard hitting rhythms and often dissonant riffing. Their debut album "A BLUEPRINT FOR MODERN NOISE" has captured the energy and presence they wear on stage!

This will be your last chance to catch MAGIC DIRT live before they head in to the studio to record their follow up rekerd. So get ready to be blown away by an evening of quality head-down, arse-up rock with MAGIC DIRT, GIRLS AGAINST BOYS and THE NATION BLUE.
