about nine of us packed in a car and drove into downtown athens to see girls against boys. about 3 of us knew who they were. they were actually starting to become pretty big on the radio and at clubs and stuff in greece. i remember getting there really early so we could meet them as we usually meet people at this venue, RODON, which can hold a couple of thousand people, like a bigger irving plaza i guess.

as we were the first ones there we sat outside and drank beer as we listened in on the soundcheck, they played parts of disco 666, vera cruz, crash 17, life in pink, vera cruz and i believe wilmington. after a couple of hours people started showing up and we noticed gvsb walking out. we approached them and talked for a bit, they were walking to mcdonald's, we warned them cause there is an annual riot on that street every year at that time to the point where concerts do not go on cause of it.

anyway, all was well and we got in, there was no opening band and they took the stage and the crowd went nuts. it was a great crowd, everybody having fun and people with self made shirts saying kill the sex player. they opened with in like flyn, which was incredible. now being that the show was 2 years ago i dont remember the order of songs but i remember what was played. super fire, click click, vera cruz, life in pink, disco 666, crash 17, the kindamzkyoulike, antoher drone in my head, cash machine, cruise yourself, kill the sexplayer, distracted, psychic knowhow. the highlight was definately psychic knowhow where scott threw his guitar and started tangling himself with the mic cord.

they didnt really talk much besides at one point someone yelled out "sexy motherfucker" and scott said, "thank you". between the encore johnny left his bottle of water on stage and everyone just kind of drank from it and put it back, i wonder if he noticed? we also nabbed a setlist that was on a paper plate, but i left it home. we waited after the show and talked for a bit longer and told them how much we liked the show. overall a great evening.
