Here is where you can find a history of the band. Right now, there are just little incomplete bios about what each band member does/did outside of GVSB. One day, there will be more.

Note that the following is not confirmed, and may be wrong. If it is, or if I forgot something, let me know, as usual.

Alexis

Alexis Fleisig

Alexis is from Washington, DC (as are all the band members--they met in junior high), where he, with Scott and others, formed Lunchmeat in their high school days. They put out a split-7-inch on the Sammich label with young Dave Grohl's band, Mission Impossible. Alexis went on to form the harDCore band Soul Side with Scott, Johnny, and Bobby Sullivan (vocals); they released at least three records on Dischord records in the late 80's. After Soul Side's demise (due to internal bickering), Alexis formed a band with Johnny, Scott and Mike Fellows called Little Baby, which was in existance for about a year and didn't release anything. Other projects of Alexis include work with Moby and a recording for the "Flyin' Traps" record, which showcases the talents of various drummers.

Eli

Eli Janney

Eli is a producer/engineer extarordinare, who has quite a few records under his belt, including those by the aforementioned Soul Side, Brainiac, and many others; he works very closely with producer Ted Nicely, and they have put together many albums (here's a list of Nicely's fine productions). Outside of GVSB, Eli has played for Trampoline, which includes the aforementioned Nicely and Geoff Turner of New Wet Kojak. He also worked on the catchy theme song for the short-lived MTV sketch comedy show The State with Craig Wedren of Shudder to Think, good friends of GVSB. The duo also wrote the theme for Comedy Central's Viva Variety, which includes former members of the aforementioned State, one of them being his former girlfriend and Cake Like singer Kerri Kennedy. Recently Eli has been doing a lot of DJ'ing, including possible tracks for a new Mortal Kombat movie, as well as with his side project, Americruiser. Oh, and he remixed a song for Mike Watt. Please note that there are thousands of other side projects that Mr. Janney is involved in that are not mentioned here.

Scott

Scott McCloud

Scott, along with being a former member of Lunchmeat, Soul Side and Little Baby, now has a side band with Johnny called New Wet Kojak. NWK also features the talents of Charles Bennignton (sax), Geoff Turner (guitar), and Nick Pelleciotto (drums). NWK have 3 albums out so far. The first is a self-titled album out on Touch And Go, the second is "Nasty International," also on Touch And Go. Their latest, "Do Things" is on Beggars Banquet. Buy all three.

Johnny

Johnny Temple

Johnny heads a small label with Soul Side singer Bobby Sullivan called Akashic Records, which has so far released a 7-inch and CD by the Sevens (band with Mark and Bobby Sullivan). He also plans to publish books, the first being a novel by Arthur Nercessian called The Fuck Up. Also, with a master's degree in social work, Johnny has written an article for Alternative Press about the band/label relationship, and is in the process of writing another one. Otherwise, his music career is pretty much parallel to Scott's.
